Las Vegas, Nevada Tony Liker helping families win fair child support settlements
The state of Nevada uses a straightforward formula when it comes to calculating child support. Payments are based on a percentage of the paying parent’s income; for example, support is generally 18 percent for one child and 25 percent for a second child. Certain caps are in place to protect those individuals who earn over a particular amount. This formula will be applied in most Las Vegas child custody cases. However, in certain circumstances a Judge may order one parent to pay more. If a child requires specialized health care or education then it is likely that the paying parent will be ordered to help relieve the custodial parent of the entire financial burden. Hiring an attorney will help you ensure that support is correctly established.
Attorney Tony Liker has 20 years’ experience in child support matters. He will take immediate steps to ensure that child support is fair when weighed against your child custody arrangement. It is not uncommon for Courts to calculate one’s support as too high or too low due to a variety of factors. Mr. Liker will ensure that the Court accurately calculates the paying party’s income and that any applicable offsets are applied. Contact our office today to schedule an initial consultation.
